Interview aspirant rejected for asst prof’s post, PU told
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed Panjab University to allow a candidate to participate provisionally in an interview for the post of assistant professor in history.
The direction came as a response to the writ petition filed by the candidate who argued that despite meeting the eligibility criteria and clearing UGC-NET twice, he did not get interview call.
Justice Sanjay Vashishth directed that the petitioner’s name be regarded as included in the already published list by Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, affiliated to PU, for the interview process.
Despite qualifying UGC-NET, holding an MPhil degree and pending PhD degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, the petitioner claimed to not have received an interview call letter. The interviews began on January 11.
Open House: Is it time to install latest instrument landing system at Airport to avoid disruptions in flight schedule?
Air traffic is on the increase. The flights must run on time as many passengers have to catch further national and international connecting flights. Since fog is a regular phenomenon, there is genuine need for installation of latest equipment. The airport authorities can apply surcharge on tickets to recover the cost the way toll is collected on bridges and roads.
To enhance Shaheed Bhagat Singh International (SBSI) Airport’s resilience in winter, there is a need to invest in cutting-edge instrument landing systems. It must be upgraded to some state-of-the-art technology, such as CAT-III ILS, for improved visibility during unfavourable weather conditions. Prioritise regular maintenance and staff training to ensure seamless operations. This proactive approach will not only minimise disruptions but also enhance the airport’s reputation for reliability and passenger satisfaction.
